Gernot Rohr affiche ses ambitions pour le Bénin

Gernot Rohr, s’est déjà mis au travail quelques jours après son officialisation en tant que sélectionneur des Guépards du Bénin.

Au micro de la Radio france internationale (Rfi), le technicien franco-allemand a été invité à s’exprimer sur l’état actuel de l’équipe nationale béninoise et aussi à dévoiler ses ambitions en tant que nouveau patron de l’encadrement technique. Et sans surprise, Gernot Rohr s’est avant d’autres sorties médiatiques, basé sur les éliminatoires de la CAN Côte d’Ivoire 2023.

« Il est vrai qu’avec deux défaites d’entrée, l’équipe a un lourd handicap. Il s’agira maintenant de gagner le prochain match contre le Rwanda à Cotonou et après, tout peut-être encore possible. On y croit mais cette qualification pour la prochaine Coupe d’Afrique n’est pas le seul objectif. C’est surtout après de reconstruire une équipe, de redonner une image positive à ce football béninois qui le mérite », a déclaré Gernot Rohr.

Le nouveau sélectionneur du onze national va rallier le Bénin dans quelques jours afin d’être officiellement présenté à la presse.
