La société espagnole spécialisée dans la conception, la construction et l’équipement d’infrastructures se propose d’offrir ses services au Gabon pour la création d’un institut des arts et métiers nautiques et de la pêche à Libreville. Elle se dit déjà prête à fournir au pays quatre bateaux de pêche.

Elle avait fait une présentation remarquée en mai dernier lors du forum sur l’industrialisation de la filière thonière organisé à Port-Gentil. Makiber SA semble sur la bonne voie pour obtenir de l’État gabonais le marché lié à l’ouverture à Libreville d’un institut des arts et métiers nautiques et de la pêche. Avant d’être présenté en conseil interministériel prochainement, le projet était au centre de la rencontre du mercredi 26 juillet entre le ministre de la Pêche et de l’Économie maritime Pascal Houangni Ambouroue et Gonzalo Lucas, directeur régional de Makiber SA.

La société espagnole souhaite être chargée de la conception, la construction et l’équipement de la future infrastructure. Elle entend ainsi offrir au Gabon un établissement de formation sur différents métiers de la mer cadrant avec les ambitions des autorités en matière de développement du secteur pêche. À en croire le patron Afrique de Makiber SA, cette école devrait fonctionner sur le modèle de l’autofinancement, d’autant qu’elle créera ses propres ressources.

Pour montrer sa détermination, la société a déjà assuré de sa capacité à fournir quatre bateaux de pêche au Gabon dont le futur institut devrait également se servir.
