L’Association des Sociétés d’Electricité d’Afrique (ASEA), une organisation panafricaine dont le siège est basé à Yaoundé au Cameroun a récemment proposé au ministre gabonais de l’Energie un renforcement des capacités des agents de la Société d’énergie et d’eau du Gabon (SEEG) dans la perspective d’améliorer la qualité des services offerts aux usagers.

L’ASEA a fait cette offre lors d’une mission de travail du 06 au 10 mai 2023 dans la capitale gabonaise sur invitation de la SEEG.

Conduite par son Directeur Général, Abel Didier TELLA, la visite de travail a démarré par les civilités au Ministre de l’Énergie et des Ressources Hydrauliques, Oswald Séverin MAYOUNOU, qui était assisté pour la circonstance de la Ministre Déléguée, Sidonie MOUSSIROU.

Les échanges ont porté sur la présentation de l’Organisme international. C’était aussi l’occasion pour Abel Didier TELLA de recueillir les attentes du Gouvernement gabonais dans ce secteur. Enfin, la Direction Générale a conduit la délégation de l’ASEA au Centre des Métiers Jean Violas d’Owendo pour une visite guidée des installations pédagogiques, logistiques.

Les travaux de rénovation en cours au CDM ont été engagés afin d’arrimer et d’intégrer le Centre des Métiers Jean VIOLAS au Réseau des Centres de Formation d’Excellence (RACEE).

Pour rappel, L’ASEA est née à Yaoundé au Cameroun en 2012, suite à la dissolution de l’Union des Producteurs, Transporteurs et Distributeurs d’Energie Electrique d’Afrique (UPDEA), créée en mai 1970 à Abidjan par onze (11) Etats africains dont le Gabon. Elle comprend 36 membres affiliés et 57 membres actifs parmi lesquels la SEEG.

La distinction remise au Directeur Général, à l’occasion de la mission de l’ASEA à Libreville, est la reconnaissance et l’hommage de l’Afrique à la SEEG pour avoir contribué à doter le continent d’une plateforme viable qui fédère les Sociétés Africaines d’Electricité et les parties prenantes en vue de rendre l’énergie électrique plus accessible, abordable et fiable pour les populations africaines.

La SEEG est membre du comité de Direction de l’ASEA, depuis le 20e congrès tenu en juillet 2022, à Dakar au Sénégal.
