Un don composé de maillots, de ballons, de bottines, de chaussettes et de gants a été officiellement remis, ce vendredi 4 juillet 2023 à Oyem, aux responsables des 16 équipes retenues pour le tournoi de football baptisé « Fils de Nkoum Ekeign ». Un geste de Chen Sylvestre Mezui M’Obiang, en sa qualité de parrain de la compétition et de fils de la localité,
« Ce tournoi de football baptisé ‘’Fils de Nkoum-Ekeign » vient nous rappeler que nous sommes frères, que nous sommes ensemble et que nous voulons vivre dans la convivialité. Je propose le mot frère pour vous dire, chers frères, que cette initiative qui prend corps aujourd’hui est une formule qui n’est pas née au Gabon, mais se transmet selon l’état d’esprit de tout un chacun », a précisé le membre du bureau politique du Parti démocratique gabonais (PDG) tout en indiquant être un émissaire du président Ali Bongo Ondimba auprès des populations de sa localité.
Au terme de cette rencontre, Daniel Ossa Ndong et Irène Akue ont affiché tous deux leur reconnaissance au nom de l’ensemble des récipiendaires. Puis s’en est suivi le tirage au sort des différents groupes qui a clos cette rencontre fraternelle. Ce tournoi se tiendra du 06 au 19 août 2023 dans la capitale septentrionale du Gabon.
