Coopération : Des Chinois envisagent de lancer un satellite avec le Gabon

Présenté comme un projet basé sur le principe «gagnant-gagnant», cet outil, prioritairement réservé à la gestion forestière au Gabon, permettrait aussi de couvrir l’ensemble du territoire national en radio, télévision, Internet et divers types de communications électroniques.

En dehors du sous-sol gabonais, en prospection dans le pays où son directeur général Afrique a commencé à échanger avec les autorités, la China Investment Holding est aussi intéressée par le secteur du numérique au Gabon. Dr Donghu Liu n’a d’ailleurs pas caché l’intérêt de son entreprise au ministre de l’Économie numérique qui l’a reçu jeudi 22 juin à Libreville. Il lui a notamment fait part d’un projet peu anodin : le lancement, en partenariat avec l’État gabonais, d’un satellite.

Ce projet, présenté comme un de ceux inscrits dans la coopération entre la Chine et le Gabon et basés sur le principe «gagnant-gagnant», prévoit aussi «la construction d’une station terrestre basée sur une technologie exclusive avec une précision inégalée qui permettrait également d’assurer une couverture totale du territoire en radio, télévision, Internet et communications électroniques», rapporte Jean Pierre Doukaga Kassa.

Mais prioritairement, China Investment Holding souhaite intervenir au Gabon dans la gestion intelligente de la forêt (reboisement, télédétection et gestion par satellite), la création d’un parc intelligent de l’industrie forestière (gestion numérique). Seulement, ces missions sont déjà dévolues à l’Agence. Ce que n’a pas manqué de rappeler le membre du gouvernement à son hôte avant de le confier aux responsables de l’agence pour la poursuite des échanges techniques ainsi qu’une visite des installations au sein de la ZES de Nkok.
