Depuis quelques jours, une délégation de la Bad séjourne à Libreville. Conduite par Mme Sylvie Mathieu, chargée d’investissement en chef de l’institution financière, elle a échangé mercredi avec le ministre de l’Énergie et des Ressources hydrauliques, Oswald Séverin Mayounou, et sa déléguée Sidonie Moussirou. Au centre de leur entretien : la construction de la centrale hydroélectrique de Ngoulmendjim, l’infrastructure censée permettre au Gabon de gagner 84 mégawatts supplémentaires pour résorber le déficit d’énergie électrique dans sa capitale.
Au ministère de l’Énergie et des Ressources hydrauliques, on informe que la mission de la Bad au Gabon vise à évaluer ce projet estimé à 262 milliards de FCFA, dont 65,5 milliards (25%) assumés par l’État gabonais et 196,5 milliards par les bailleurs de fonds parmi lesquels la Bad. «L’objectif principal de la mission est de procéder à une revue complète du projet qui porte en particulier sur la faisabilité technique et financière,les mesures de sauvegardes sociales et environnementales et les dispositions d’exécution dudit projet», précise le ministère qui dit attendre les conclusions de celle-ci afin de préparer le suivi du projet.
